**** OSHA COMPLIANCE NOTE ****

OSHA COMPLIANT FALL PROTECTION SCREEN & FALL RATED UNITS are tested to comply to OSHA Standard 29CFR (a) (4) & (e) (8) OSHA which does not provide specific ratings for skylights. However, OSHA does have regulations and guidelines related to skylights and other roof openings to prevent falls in the workplace. Skylights must be designed, installed, and maintained to meet certain safety standards to protect workers from falling through them. These standards typically involve:

Guardrails and Covers: Skylights should be protected by guardrails or covers that are capable of supporting the weight of workers and any equipment they may be using.

Strength and Durability: Skylights should be constructed from materials that are strong enough to withstand the weight of a worker who might accidentally step on them.

Visibility: Skylights should be clearly marked or made visible to prevent workers from accidentally
stepping on or falling through them.

Regular Inspection: Skylights should be inspected regularly to ensure they remain in good condition and continue to meet safety standards.

Training: Workers should receive training on the hazards associated with skylights and how to safely work around them.

Birdview ACRYLIC units when covered by exterior safety cages, meet the required guidelines and specifications for OSHA standards as mentioned above. EXCEPTIONS: Some OVERSIZED units will require Safety Rail Systems rather than external screens to meet compliance, for questions/clarification please contact our team.

Our Birdview POLYCARBONATE units **(WITHOUT screens)** undergo rigorous testing (Report #CCL1-04-002) to ensure they meet or exceed OSHA standards. This testing process verifies their effectiveness in preventing falls and protecting workers, the strength and durability of the polycarbonate unit is sufficient alone without additional protection to meet the standards set forth.

As always, Birdview is committed to safety and ensuring that customers have access to reliable and compliant products. So, while a specific rating may not be applicable to skylights we are happy to provide testing reports as needed to assure its compliance with OSHA guidelines and that it meets the necessary safety standards to protect workers.
